The Starlight Journal is a passion project created by Andrew Laspesa, a lifelong movie fan and lover of all things entertainment. Founded in 2023, this blog is the next step in my way to continue to share my thoughts on film, and give myself a platform to talk about whatever I want, whenever I want, and share my love of movies with all of you! Here you will find reviews of new releases, monthly Film Journals chronicling everything I am watching throughout the month, ranked movie lists, and editorial pieces on topics I feel like discussing in the entertainment world! Andrew is a lifelong film fan with a passion for storytelling. First falling in love with movies with countless watches of the first two Toy Story movies on VHS, his life changed when his grandpa first showed him the original Star Wars trilogy, and a lifelong obsession was born from there. A Film Studies graduate from the University at Buffalo, Andrew has dedicated his life to sharing his passions with the world and those around him. Besides his passion for writing, he is the creator and co-host of For The Republic: A Love Letter to Star Wars Animation, a Star Wars podcast chronicling the Star Wars animated shows. In his spare time, Andrew enjoys going to the movie theater, doing Star Wars trivia, building Legos, and adding towards his ever-growing collection of Star Wars and Marvel figures.
